We’re not going to lie; we’re pretty excited to have some major milestones coming up in 2023!
Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club Turns 100
Our good friends at the Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club are celebrating their one-hundred-year anniversary this year, and we’re super proud to have been part of their journey for the last 15 years.
The red and yellow flags are a familiar sight on any Aussie beach, and those at Park Beach in Coffs Harbour are no exception. The Coffs Harbour Surf Life Saving Club (CHSLSC) has been the heart and soul of the Coffs Harbour coastal community since its official formation in 1923. 2023 will mark a century of CHSLSC – a hundred years’ worth of volunteer efforts, including surf patrol, water safety education and community programs.
Nothing makes us prouder than serving and supporting club members. Whether it’s a coffee to get the life savers through their weekend shifts, milkshakes for Nippers after Sunday morning training, or morning tea for the Silver Salties, we love doing our part and seeing those familiar faces week in, week out, and we can’t wait for many more years to come!

Let’s take it back to 2008. The world was in the middle of the Global Financial Crisis, Barack Obama was elected President of the USA, Beijing hosted the summer Olympics, and we opened the Surf Club Restaurant and Bar! This year, we’re looking forward to blowing out 15 candles on our birthday cake.
Ever since its inception, Donovan’s Surf Club Restaurant and Bar have been family owned and operated. At the helm of restaurant operations is Executive Chef Matt Donovan. Matt and his family have been trusted, familiar faces at the Surf Club Restaurant and Bar for a decade and a half, and have been proud to help our local community celebrate birthdays, Christmases, Easters and weddings. We’re looking forward to many more years being part of your lives!
