Your Awesome Autumn Ahead at the Surf Club!

The cool change in temperature brings some cool changes to Donovan’s Surf Club as well! Here’s a sneak peek of what we’re up to in the coming months at your favourite beachside dining location:


Easter is nice and early this year! We’re open every day of the QLD school holidays except Good Friday. Pop on in and get your fresh Coffs Coast seafood fix all weekend long! We highly recommend booking, as we can get busy quickly and you don’t want to miss out, especially because we have a surprise for you chowder fans…


Look, we’re not sure whether it’s the fresh seafood, the comforting creaminess or the crusty bread, but there is just something about Matt’s seafood chowder that has amassed almost a cult-like following! You’ve asked, you’ve begged, and you’ve pleaded, so we’re bringing in Chowder Tuesdays. Plus, buy a chowder any time in April, and go in the draw to win exclusive Matt’s Seafood Chowder merch – whether it’s a tee, socks or thongs, you can show your love for your favourite lunch everywhere you go.


Just what does a chef cook when they’re not at work?! Well, if you’ve been on the Surf Club socials lately, you might have noticed us posting our weekly Sunday Dinner with the Donovans, where our executive chef Matt Donovan cooks for his family. So far, we’ve seen Nasi Goreng, chicken tikka masala, Japanese beef stirfry, Moroccan chicken stew, pad Thai and even a takeover by Matt’s family for his birthday. What’s Matty going to cook up next?! 


C’mon, Mum deserves more than just one day, don’t you think? We at Donovan’s Surf Club certainly think so, which is why we’re celebrating Mothers’ Week! No matter what kind of mum your Mum is, we have a special every day of the week in the lead up to Mother’s Day (which is Sunday May 12, to save you the Google). Show Mum how much she means to you with fresh local food, delicious coffee, gorgeous views and maybe even a sneaky cocktail!


We all know the food at Donovan’s Surf Club is delicious, but have you ever wondered who the faces are behind it? We’re not content to let our chefs get by on just an introduction; we’re putting their skills to the test. In June, we’re giving each chef a week to come up with their craziest pancake creations. We’ll have them on our specials board for you to try, and at the end of your month, you can vote for your favourite. We’re also taking suggestions for prizes for the winning chef too!
